The Campaigns tab is one of the most useful tabs in your B Generous portal. This is where you can create new forms/campaigns, edit existing campaigns, and share your campaigns with your donors.
Once you log in to your B Generous portal, you can access the Campaigns tab on the far left sidebar. When you open the tab, you will see all of your current campaigns, as well as the option to add a new campaign. If you do not want to create a new campaign from scratch, you can clone an existing campaign. This will allow you to create a new campaign using the logo, settings, photos, colors, and customizations from a previous campaign. This is useful if you want to make your brand colors and logo cohesive across multiple campaigns.
To the right of each campaign title, you will see a 3-dot menu. This menu allows you easy access to cloning campaigns, editing your campaign, sharing your campaign, and setting a campaign as default.
Clicking on a campaign will open the campaign editor. The campaign editor allows you access to all editing capabilities and options, as well as the share option in the far right corner.
General Tab
Campaign Name
The Campaign Name is what you will see in your Campaigns tab when reviewing all of your campaigns as a list.
You can change the name by clicking the pencil icon next to the text that automatically says "My Campaign." Type your new campaign name and click anywhere outside of the box to save the change. The change is not public until you select "Publish."
Campaign Identifier
The General tab also contains your Campaign Identifier. You can use a Campaign Identifier to track where gifts come from, or how they should be categorized in your CRM. Enter the text you would like to use as your Campaign Identifier and click the blue "Publish" button in the top right corner of the page.
Logo
Your logo appears at the top of your donation modal for the entire Donate Now, Pay Later experience. To change the logo, find the header that says “Your Nonprofit Logo.” You will see a box to drag and drop your logo’s file or click the box and upload the file. The recommended format is SVG with the dimensions of 150 x 50. This will ensure a high quality image.
Colors
You can customize the form colors to match your organization’s look and feel. In the "General" tab, scroll down to "Your Nonprofit Brand Colors." You can select two colors - primary and secondary.
To use the hex code, simply type it into the text box or copy it from your own source and paste it into the box.
To choose a color from a color chart, click on the square to the right of the hex code text box. Use the bottom slider to select a color and use the top color chart to refine it.
💡Tip: To ensure that the text on your form is readable, avoid using white (#ffffff) as a color option.
Welcome Tab
The Welcome tab allows you to edit what we call the "Welcome Screen." The Welcome Screen allows you to put all of your donation options in one place, so that donors can see all options at once in a clean, viewable way.
To add more options or make edits to your Welcome Screen, turn the toggle on for "Display Option for Pay Now & Pay Later." Once this toggle is turned on, you will see options for adding additional donation methods below.
Start by adding a "Pay Now Link." This is the link to whatever form your organization uses to collect payments today. This will show up on the left side of the Donate Now, Pay Later modal. Donate Now, Pay Later will be on the right. You do not need to add any links for Donate Now, Pay Later - that is already done automatically!
All additional donation methods will appear below your Pay Now and Pay Later options. These can be added by clicking on "Add Additional Links." The "Link Label" is the clickable text the donor will see in the form. The URL is the direct link to your donation option.
💡Tip: This is a great place to add monthly donation options! You can also create a page on your website with your other ways to donate and link it in your Welcome Screen - simply call it "Other Ways to Donate" for the Link Label.
Ask Tab
The Ask tab allows you to personalize your campaign to an even higher degree by adding a personal message from your organization, along with a photo of your choice. The Ask Banner appears to the left of your donation modal and allows the donor to understand the impact that their donation has.
To enable this feature, flip the toggle to ON next to the words "Display Ask Banner." You can add an Ask Banner Image by clicking in the rectangle near the text "Ask Banner Image." This must be a 420 X 180 JPG or PNG image. The text box for "Ask Headline" serves as a header or title for your Ask Banner. Under that, you can enter an "Ask Description," or a longer paragraph with information about your campaign.
💡Tip: Our most successful organizations use this feature to mention what a certain donation amount can do for the organization. For example, "A donation of $500 feeds a family for a month."
Amounts Tab
The Amounts Tab allows you to change the suggested amounts in the Donate Now, Pay Later experience.
Under "Your Donation Ladder," you can customize the amount buttons your donors will see. They will always see 3 amount buttons, plus a button for "other" where they can enter their own amount. To add your amount options, click “Edit” at the bottom. Type in the chosen dollar amounts for each button.
The middle square will be shown as the "Most Popular" option by default, but you can change this by clicking "Edit" and then clicking the pin icon in the upper right hand corner of the square that you want to be shown as the "most popular" donation option. Click "SAVE". Whichever square has the pin on it will be shown as the "most popular" option to the donor.
You also have the ability to Set Custom Minimum Donations. This option will allow you to choose a minimum amount that the donor can give using the form. Simply flip this toggle to "On" and type in the minimum donation amount you would prefer. The lowest possible is $75, which is the default. But be conscious of your Donation Ladder amounts as you customize the Minimum Donation amount!
💡Tip: The best use for the Set Custom Minimum Donations is campaigns for things such as sponsorships with a minimum requirement (like a room naming rights campaign), memberships that require a minimum donation amount per year (like a junior board for your nonprofit), or ticketing events that require a minimum donation to receive a ticket (like a gala).
Success Tab
The Success Tab allows you to customize the image the donor sees once the donation is complete. You can also choose whether or not to send tax receipts here.
Find the header that says “Donate Now, Pay Later Thank You Banner.” You will see a box to drag and drop your image file or click the box and upload the file. The recommended format is JPG or PNG with the dimensions of 560 x 240. This will ensure a high quality image.
Tax receipts are on by default. This means your donor will always receive a tax receipt unless you turn this feature off.
If you need to turn this off, at the bottom of the page, there is a section titled “Tax Receipt.” This will be on unless you have previously changed it. To turn it off, click on the toggle button next to “Send Tax Receipts.” You can turn tax receipts back on at any time.
Final Payment Tab
The Final Payment Tab, gives you the option to enable or disable an email to the Donor upon the success of the final payment of their Donate Now, Pay Later plan. You can customize the body of the email to invite the donor to give again with B Generous, link to your donation forms, or include any other important information to your cause.
A default template is ready to use right away, with your ability to customize the body of the email message to meet the needs of your communication and marketing. Key details of the gift are also provided in the email template for the donor to reference.
Element Tab
The Element Tab allows you to custom build a button to connect to your campaign. You can learn how to build a button by clicking here.
Publish
The Publish button is always to the right in the campaigns builder. Be sure to select Publish to save any changes to your form!
Share
The Share button in the top right corner of the campaigns builder opens a pop-up with ways to share your campaign.
The best way to share is by installing it as a pop-up on your website. You can learn how to do that here.
Sharing a Standalone Webpage
You can share a direct link to your campaign by selecting the Landing Page Link. This will create a standalone form with it's own URL ideal for directly sharing with donors, linking in social media posts, or sending in emails.
📝Note: The background image that displays on this page is the image uploaded on the thank-you screen.
Sharing a Website Popup
The website popup is our recommended way to share your campaign - and it is also the easiest way to share! Using popups requires a one-time installation step - You can find full instructions for this method here.
Sharing a QR Code
You have the option of generating a QR code for the standalone URL for your campaign or for your website popup.
To share a QR code for the standalone URL, select "Download QR Code" under the Landing Page Link option in the Share Campaign box. This will allow you to save the QR code to your computer and use it wherever you like.
To share a QR code for the website popup, enter your website URL (or the URL of the page that your Donate button is on) and click "Download QR Code." This will allow you to save the QR code to your computer and use it wherever you like.
Creating a Custom Button
You can create a Donate Now, Pay Later button by clicking "Create Button" in the Share Campaign box. This will take you our button builder, which you can also find in your Campaigns tab. Select a campaign then select the tab at the top titled "Element."
You can learn how to build a button by clicking here.
