Website Specific Guides
⚠️ Before You Start:
The first step to installing this is to make sure the installation code is added to your website. The installation code must be installed to ensure that the modal opens as a pop-up on your website. This method will not work without the installation code.
These are general instructions. Follow these instructions if you have a Wordpress website to add a popup form to Wordpress website.
Using The Link Method (Recommended)
Step 1: Copy the Popup Link For Your Campaign From Your Portal
Log in to your B Generous portal and select "Campaigns" in the left sidebar. Open the campaign editor for that campaign, and click the "share" button in the top right corner. Each campaign has its own unique URL.
In the share pop-up, the option on the far right says "Website Popup Link" Click to copy this to your clipboard.
Step 2: Paste The Popup Link To Your Site
You will notice that the link you have copied is not a standard link - this string of special text can be added to the end of any page link on your website to open up the popup on your site. (Remember, this only works if you've added the install code first!)
You May Need To Modify Your Popup Link to Fit Your Website
Some website platforms (Squarespace and Wix) allow you to paste the popup link as-is to your website. Sometimes website platforms will not allow you to add a link without also combining it with a page on your website.
For example, suppose this is the link to your donate page:
examplenonprofit.org/donate/
And this is the Website Popup Link you copied from your portal:
?dnplOrganizationID=1a86beae-b45c-4d59-b05d-0a62bc7abfb7&dnplCampaignID=dd49a47e-32c4-4cc5-bedf-48fb56814b07
You would paste the Website Popup Link from your site and add it to the end of the page link to combine the two, so it would look something like this:
examplenonprofit.org/donate/?dnplOrganizationID=1a86beae-b45c-4d59-b05d-0a62bc7abfb7&dnplCampaignID=dd49a47e-32c4-4cc5-bedf-48fb56814b07
This will load the page on your site with the popup on top of it.
You can replace "donate" buttons throughout your website to get your popup to open in it's place.
Using the Custom Button Builder Method
There are other ways to share your donation page beyond the link method. You can also create a custom button using the custom button builder.
